Good afternoon.
I'm writing about the poet Jack Clemo, whom Johnson published in the Transatlantic Review a few times. It's probably a long shot, but I wondered whether someone might know if he mentioned Clemo in any letters or documents. Margaret Drabble wrote about Clemo in a few of her books, and it's quite possible that Johnson introduced her to Clemo's poetry.
As I say, I know it's a long shot, but it would interest me very much.
Best wishes,
Luke Thompson.
I had a quick look (in correspondence and TR files), but came across no obvious references to Clemo in the B.S. Johnson Archive. There may still be a buried reference in there somewhere, cataloguing is currently in progress and access should be facilitated by the summer. So please do come and have a thorough look then!
